In some cases, WHEN you eat can be just as important as WHAT you eat. Particularly with carbohydrates, it is important to eat them at the right times in order to maximize your energy levels and performance, and to ensure that your body uses them properly. Eating carbs for breakfast and throughout the day can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, and result in sluggish performance, brain fog and low energy. You don’t want to avoid carbohydrates entirely, since your body needs them to function well, but eating your carbs in the evening helps you avoid the blood sugar roller coaster, and your body will utilize them to do everything it needs while you’re sleeping.
